3. Gold - I don't see the actual reason for buying gold, Microsoft really just did this for even more money. But this is one of the most well-known companies in the whole world. Which means they probably bring in a lot of money. I think it's messed up that Microsoft chooses to force us to pay Gold just so we can get special deals and to play online with our friends and all that stuff. It's nice they opened it up a bit by allowing regular X-box users to use apps like the store, Netflix, etc.
2. X-box - One of their best products is the X-box consoles but there have been many problems with the systems. We all know about the ring of death that occurred several times in the company's history. The warranty system they have kind of sucks because it stops at some point even though the threat of the ring of death is really high.
1. Competitive - I understand why some companies are competitive but I don't think that Microsoft is at a level where they have to be competitive except for when they are fighting Apple. I think the reason why they release the X-box system at almost the same time as Sony releasing the PS systems is due to competition and they really want to beat Sony. I don't think they will ever achieve this because of how many problems the X-box system happens to have.
