Top 3 Sport Game companies - Quickie

3. Midway (RIP)

For those that don't know, Midway used to release NFL Blitz until they lost the licensing. Instead of giving up, they came back with Blitz: The League 1 and 2. But it wasn't enough to save the company and in 2009 the company closed its doors. Most of the companies assets went to Time Warner.

2. 2K

Founded in 2005, as a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, it quickly made a name for itself with NBA 2K and other series like NHL 2K, Mafia, etc. They appear to control the basketball game market, as NBA2k appears to have gotten more popular in recent years probably due to improved graphics. The company appears to have good reviews by former employees with the common statement being "fun but stressful".

1. EA

Most likely the most well-known sports game developer. They have control of the American football video game market with the Madden Franchise. The company has a lot of black stains with poor reviews from former employees but it doesn't take away the fact that EA is on the top. They also get a lot of flack from customers about the Online Pass, many lawsuits and other complaints. People still buy EA so it will stay on top for a long time.
